Braddock was released from the Padres' minor league camp Friday, Corey Brock of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Braddock inked a minor league deal in January but was unable to make an appearance in the Cactus League. The 26-year-old may now be relegated to independent baseball for a second consecutive season, after tossing a measly five frames at Lancaster of the Atlantic League last year.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2011
2010
2008
Braddock was called up during the 2010 season and became a big part of the Milwaukee bullpen. He posted a 2.90 ERA with a 11.0 K/9IP rate in 33.2 innings. Braddock was hampered by shoulder injuries during his minor league career, but it seems like he's remained healthy since becoming a reliever. One thing to watch is his 5.1 BB/9IP rate that could cause some problems. He'll start the season in middle relief, but also has the ability to be a closer in the future.
Braddock regained his prospect shine in 2009 by striking out 66 batters in just 40.2 IP between High-A Brevard County and Double-A Huntsville. He followed that up with a successful Arizona Fall League. The Brewers have moved him from the starting rotation to reliever due to a number of past arm injuries. The big lefty pitched injury free in 2009 and should start 2010 in Double-A Huntsville, but don't be surprised to find him in the Brewers bullpen at some point during the season.
Braddock was very impressive at Low-A West Virginia until a sore shoulder cut his season short after just 47 IP. He posted a 1.15 ERA and a .915 WHIP before the injury and may start next season in West Virginia again. If he can stay healthy, he'll be a good sleeper to watch during the season.
