Galarraga was released by the Rangers on Monday, Gerry Fraley of Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Galarraga, who was one out shy of a perfect game with the Tigers a couple years ago, is now a free agent. The 32-year-old will is likely nearing the end of his career, but will look for work in the minors for another team.

Other than his much-publicized imperfect game on June 2 against the Indians, Galarraga had an unspectacular season in 2010. The 29-year-old finished 4-9 with a 4.49 ERA and a 74:51 K:BB ratio in 144.1 innings. His K/9IP dipped for the second straight year, dropping from a career-high 6.35 in 2008 to 4.61 last season. Despite his pedestrian numbers, Galarraga is considered the early favorite to land the No. 5 spot in the Tigers' rotation. After three seasons in the majors, we've seen the ceiling (2008) and floor (2009) for Galarraga, and he will likely wind up falling somewhere in between on a yearly basis. Deep or AL-only leagues might be able to find minimal value here, but shallower formats should avoid him.
