The 41-year old played for Orix last season, but they won't be making him an offer. He tied the Japanese single-season home run record of 55 in 2001 and hold the record for the most home runs (464), hits (1,792) and RBIs (1,269) by a foreign player in Japan.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2006
2005
Rhodes hit .240/.337/.478 in 101 games, with 27 homers, for his Japanese club last year before going down for the year due to a shoulder injury. His team then cut him loose in October amidst some acrimony, so if Rhodes wants to play baseball anywhere in 2006, likely it'll be on this side of the pond. Rhodes has hit 224 home runs over the last five seasons in Japan, so someone could give him a spring NRI with a chance to win DH at-bats.
Rhodes played in the majors from 1990 to 1995 (.224 lifetime, 13 home runs in 225 games, including three homers on Opening Day for the Cubs in 1994). He's played in Japan since 1996, hitting 360 career home runs there (including 197 between 2001 and 2004). You can see Rhodes' career stats from Japan (through 2004) here at japanesebaseball.com.
