Rest-of-Season Projections
Berken has signed a minor league deal with the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Most likely, he'll spend the year adding depth with the Giants' Triple-A affiliate, but perhaps the chance to pitch in a favorable environment at the big league level will enable Berken to stick, if he's called upon.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2012
2011
2010
Berken fell hard in 2011 after a solid year of relief pitching in 2010. His ERA dropped from 3.03 to 5.36 as he lost his grip on the strike zone (4.02 BB/9IP) and allowed home run after home run (1.91 HR/9IP). Berken will need to get the ball on the ground to regain his 2010 success - he only induced 40 percent groundballs in 2011 after 47 percent in 2010. Look for him to work in middle relief for the Orioles again this season.
