Rest-of-Season Projections
Durango was assigned to the Royals' minor league camp Saturday, according to the Kansas City Star.
ANALYSIS
Durango has bounced around a few organizations lately and wasn't expected to make the cut anyway. His .154 average with three strikeouts over 13 at-bats wasn't exactly stating a case to stay either. He'll hang out at Triple-A Omaha for the year unless injuries completely decimate the Royals outfield and bench.

Durango has one skill, speed. At Triple-A Portland he got on base enough (.378 OBP) to showcase this skill (34 steals), but when given a taste of playing time at the major league level, this wasn't the case (.308 OBP). His walk rate has been in a steady decline for a couple seasons now, which does not bode well for his future fantasy value. Should he find himself in a starting role with the Padres, he'd be a great source of cheap speed in 2011, but their outfield is crowded and he's probably best suited as a reserve role where he'll start occasionally and work primarily as a pinch-runner.
