Hu has seen sporadic major league time in his career, notching just 173 at-bats over parts of four seasons, so his .191/.241/.283 career batting line should be viewed in that context. We don't see him as a future regular and apparently the Dodgers didn't either, but he'll get a fresh start with the Mets in 2011. Even though Hu offers solid defense, there's little potential at the plate beyond a .280ish batting average. He'll open the season back in Triple-A barring an impressive spring.
