$Signed a one-year, minor-league contract with the Twins in November of 2014.

Farris signed a minor league deal with the Twins on Tuesday that includes an invite to spring training, Darren Wolfson of 1500ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The invite to attend major league spring training seems like simply a courtesy, as Farris is a .272/.316/.355 career hitter at the Triple-A level and isn't likely to reach the majors next season. While he still has some speed, Farris hasn't played shortstop since joining the Twins organization in 2013 and the team already has several options in center.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2010
Farris is one of the fastest players in the Milwaukee organization, but he can't steal first base. He hit .269/.314/.369 for Triple-A Nashville in 2011 with 21 steals. Farris is buried behind Rickie Weeks on the depth chart so he'll be at Triple-A again in 2012 unless Weeks gets injured, it's unlikely that he'll be deployed in a utility role until the Brewers give him reps at other positions in the minors. .
Farris missed most of 2010 due to injuries, but returned to hit .274/.311/.348 with 14 stolen bases in 60 games for Triple-A Nashville. The walk rate has always been an issue with Farris and is probably the biggest reason he's not in the majors. He has tremendous speed and once stole 70 bases in one minor league season. The Brewers are trying to sign Rickie Weeks to a long term contract, which would put Farris' future with the team in doubt. He could be a great fantasy player due to his speed if he ever was given a job in the majors.
Farris is one of the fastest players in the Milwaukee organization and it showed in 2009 as he stole 70 bases in 76 attempts for High-A Brevard County. Unfortunately, he can't steal first base and walking just 29 times in 473 at-bats is not going to cut it. That kind of speed is going to get him a lot of opportunities to learn some plate discipline, though, and if he ever does learn to take a walk then he could be a monster fantasy player. He may start the season at Double-A Huntsville, but Brett Lawrie is ready to pass him on the depth chart at second base, if he hasn't done so already.
