ANALYSIS
We've heard precious little else about Fullmer all season, and we doubt we'll really hear anything significant from him for the rest of 2005.

Fullmer's now a 31-year-old DH two years removed from any semblance of major league success. He'll turn up somewhere, but it may take a rash of injuries to other people to get him back in a big league uniform for more than a cup of coffee.
More knee problems ended Fullmer's season. Mix in a few singles and his 2004 season was the same as years past, featuring good power and a good batting eye. He could be a nice cheap DH option for a bargain shopper now that he's a free agent.
A ruptured patella tendon in his right knee ended Fullmer's season last June, as well as his tenure with the Angels. He'll walk into the starting job at 1B/DH for the Rangers that opened up with Rafael Palmeiro's departure. Fullmer may be off many people's fantasy radar screens because of his long injury layoff last year. His career numbers indicate that he shouldn't go high among AL corner infielders, but if he's available late, he'll be a great value play.
Fullmer is mainly used as the Angels designated hitter (but will see some games at first base) and had solid numbers in 2002 with a .289 batting average, 19 HR and 59 RBI. However, those numbers are attributable in part to Fullmer being the only DH bat available after Shawn Wooten's spring-training injury. Don't expect a repeat in 2003. Look for him to platoon at first with Scott Spiezio and DH with Wooten.
