July 20, 2016

2017 Fantasy Outlook
One of the most improved players in a very deep Dodgers system, Hansen reminded everyone why the Dodgers used a top-70 pick on him two years ago. He posted a 71 wRC+ and struck out at a 30.5 percent clip in the Arizona League after getting drafted in 2015, but a year later he showed off an impressive power/speed combination while cutting his strikeout rate to 21.5 percent in the Pioneer League. He does not have true plus power or plus speed, but at 6-foot-4 he uses a leveraged swing to send balls over the fence, projecting to hit 15-20 homers and steal 10-plus bases at maturity. The development of his hit tool will be the key to his continuing to profile as an everyday player as he moves up the ranks. Hansen will likely end up in left field, so his bat will have to carry him. This will be a "prove it" year in a more neutral hitting environment in the Midwest League.
