Past Fantasy Outlooks
2016
2015
Travieso had a steady campaign at High-A Daytona despite missing two months with a wrist injury, posting a 2.70 ERA and 76:30 K:BB over 93.1 innings. He followed that by pitching even better in the Arizona Fall League, posting a 2.03 ERA and 20:3 K:BB over 22 innings. The Reds' first-round pick in 2012 might be catching up on Robert Stephenson as their top pitching prospect, though he has yet to scale the Double-A wall, something he'll attempt to do in 2016.
Travieso made great strides in 2014 at Low-A Dayton, taking advantage of a good pitcher's park to post a 3.03 ERA in his second full professional season. As a high school draftee in 2012, the Reds brought Travieso along slowly, not exposing him to a full-season league until midseason 2013. You can see his development through his climbing strikeout rate -- going from 17.5% in 2013 to 19.2%. He has a mid-90s fastball and has relied more on a slider for his second pitch. Travieso also finished strong, with a 2.97 ERA in July and 1.56 ERA in August. Don't sleep on him as a prospect.
