Miami Marlins A+
2025 Fantasy Outlook
A high-pedigree southpaw who received $4.1 million from Miami in 2023 after sliding to pick No. 35, White improved his prospect stock throughout the 2024 season while showcasing one of the best sliders in the minors. White threw exactly five innings in each of his final eight starts for High-A Beloit, logging a 2.25 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 40 innings over that stretch. The lanky 6-foot-5 lefty seemingly got better as the season went on, logging a 2.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 21.7 K-BB% in 13 starts at High-A after logging a 3.18 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 17.2 K-BB% in eight starts for Single-A Jupiter to begin the year. His mid-90s fastball has great movement and gives him another easy plus pitch, while his changeup is a very good third pitch. White has long limbs and has struggled to throw strikes at times, but he showed impressive consistency down the stretch. He may head to Double-A for the beginning of his age-20 season, and if he throws enough strikes, he could finish 2025 as a top-five pitching prospect in baseball. Read Past Outlooks
