Green was brought in during the offseason to bolster the Broncos' defensive line and he should be able to produce more than he did while in New England. While he will be given a greater opportunity to produce, he will most likely not garner much interest in IDP leagues.
Green had 29 tackles and two sacks in 14 games last season, including three starts, on the Patriots' defensive line. As a key cog in the rotation, his value is greater to the Patriots than it it is to fantasy owners, but if injuries, say to Richard Seymour, lead to more snaps, he could get to the QB enough to merit fantasy consideration in deeper leagues.
Green has racked up 14.5 sacks the past two seasons and will continue to be used as a pass rushing specialist for New England. Expect similar numbers in 2008.
Green is a vital part of the rotation on the Pats' outstanding defensive line. He's not going to help IDP owners with high tackle totals, but he can get to the QB, as his 7.5 sacks in 2006 demonstrated.
Green, who is in the defensive end rotation, is a pass rushing specialist most of the time, but he can be counted on to step into the starting lineup should either Richard Seymour or Ty Warren go down with an injury.
Green is a productive reserve who the Patriots deploy in their defensive line rotation and he always seems to make his mark when given the chance. He had four sacks last year and plays bigger than his 290-pound frame while showing good quickness and hand usage.
Green, who had three sacks in the 2003 AFC Championship Game, will look to play a bigger role in the Patriots' defensive scheme this year.
