Dobbins re-signed with the Texans in the offseason and will continue on as the special-teams captain and backup at inside linebacker.

Dobbins will provide depth at inside linebacker for the Texans.

Dobbins has history with Houston defensive coordinator Wade Phillips from their 2006 days in San Diego, so he was brought in after being released by the Dolphins. There's a bit of an issue of depth at linebacker in Houston, so Dobbins may find himself a backup role.

In his first season with the Dolphins Dobbins will be relied on to be a key special teams performer and will also add depth to the linebacking position.

Dobbins made eight starts at inside linebacker for the Bolts in 2008 and recorded 57 tackles. This season he will compete with Matt Wilhelm and free agent acquisition Kevin Burnett for a starting role in training camp.

Dobbins will again serve as a backup inside linebacker for the Bolts in 2007.

Dobbins will most likely enter the season as a backup inside linebacker in San Diego.
