No longer with NIU
Childers was removed from Northern Illinois' roster in the spring and has apparently elected to forgo his final year of eligibility, Kaleb Carter of the DeKalb Daily Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Childers would have been a redshirt senior this fall, but since the signal-caller isn't with Northern Illinois and doesn't appear to have entered the transfer portal, he's seemingly moved on from football. During his time with the Huskies, Childers completed 58.3 percent of his passes for 5.8 yards per attempt and a 37:18 TD:INT while accruing 1,385 yards from scrimmage and 16 scores. Redshirt senior Ross Bowers is set to take over as Northern Illinois' top quarterback in 2020.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Childers was a low-volume passer in 2018, reaching 30 attempts in a game just six times while completing just under 59 percent with a 15:10 touchdown-to-interception ratio. But he offers nice production on the ground (531 yards and six touchdowns last year), and if he makes some progress throwing the ball there's sneaky fantasy upside here in the mold of past Northern Illinois quarterbacks Chandler Harnish and Jordan Lynch.
