Casey Pachall: No Combine Invite
QBTCU
January 30, 2014
Pachall was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
ANALYSIS
Pachall showed some promise in 2011 and 2012, with a 35:8 TD:INT ration in those two seasons, but an injury-plagued senior year has him off the radar for most NFL teams. While he has the prototypical NFL body, Pachall has some red flags off the field and is not expected to be drafted.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2012
Pachall was off to a great start last season before a DWI arrest led to an indefinite suspension that ended his season prematurely. He spent time in a rehab facility, and comments from head coach Gary Patterson indicate that Pachall’s problems were limited to off-the-field issues. Having kept the respect of his coach, Pachall is a good bet to win his job back, though he could face competition from Trevone Boykin. Boykin did a respectable job of replacing Pachall last season and is the more mobile of the two signal callers, but Pachall is still the favorite to start come Week 1. He’ll hope to find the pre-arrest form that saw him complete 228-of-343 passes for 2,921 yards, 25 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 2011.
If Pachall felt pressure from the task of replacing Andy Dalton at quarterback, he sure didn't make it obvious last year. Despite making his debut as a starter for the Horned Frogs Pachall was an instant hit, totaling five touchdowns in the team's Week 1 game against Baylor and finishing the year with 27 touchdowns (two rushing) compared to seven interceptions. He also averaged 8.5 yards per pass. His upside is a bit limited since the TCU offense is a bit run-heavy, but Pachall has a very high floor and should be owned in most or all league types.
