Rest-of-Season Projections
Owen has been sent down from Triple-A Buffalo to Double-A Binghamton, The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Owen has been below ho-hum for Buffalo so far, with a 1-2 record and 4.70 ERA, though his 13 strikeouts in 15.1 innings isn't bad and in line with his career average. He doesn't have overpowering stuff, but he traditionally finds a way to strike guys out with regularity.

2008 Fantasy Outlook
Owen tore up the New York-Penn League going 9-1 with a 1.49 ERA, 0.871 WHIP and 69:12 ratio in 72.1 innings pitched, after being selected by the Mets in 20th round of the 2007 draft out of Francis Marion College. He doesn't have overpowering stuff, but has solid command and a good breaking pitch, which might allow him to advance up the ladder faster than some hard throwers, even if it limits his upside down the road. Owen should open 2008 at either Low-A Savannah or High-A St. Lucie.
