Goins turned a career-high volume of playing time into new bests in homers (nine), RBI (62) and stolen bases (three). With a low walk rate and limited pop, he continues to bring more to the table with his defensive prowess than he does with his bat, and it's difficult to imagine a scenario in which he plays in 143 games again. The return of a healthy Devon Travis at second base would theoretically block one path to at-bats for Goins, whose playing time mostly came from the two middle-infield spots last season. Even if he were to see something that resembles an everyday role in 2018, the limited offensive tools will prevent him from offering much for fantasy owners to get excited about, but it's more likely that the Blue Jays will look to younger options in the organization to take on a utility role before turning back to Goins.
